I shy away from paid advertising. Not that I don’t believe in it but more so because I think I first need to exhaust free and almost free resources. However; our web host (WPH) was offering Ad Credits worth $150 if we host with them. That is too good a deal to pass so we signed up. We paid them less than $100 for three years of hosting and got Ad credits worth $150. Our next three years of hosting are free + we are $60 or so in the profit.

Anyway, I decided to use the Ad credits today and launched small campaigns on Google Adwords, Yahoo, MIVA and MyAds. Let’s see if there is something to gain. What do we have to loose!

Surprising the best results were from Miva. Out of the four networks mentioned above, I knew the least about Miva. The only reason I tried them was their $25 credit and I am glad I did. In online marketing just like conventional marketing, every penny counts. More so for small businesses. So if you are thinking of Pay Per Click advertising, give a serious thought to Miva. I looked around and they are still offering their $25 promotional credit. If you are like me, take advantage of Free money. Gives you a taste of it on their dime.

Network Cost Per Click (CPC)
Google $0.43
Yahoo $0.30
Miva $0.19
MyAds (Fox network) $0.34
