Many small businesses when they understand the value of having a very good blog attached to their website, they start a blog, and they start it with very good intentions, but soon they realize it is a lot of work. A blog does you no good if there is no content added to it on a very regular basis, and when you start writing content it takes time, you have to research it, you have to provide relevant graphics, you have to give references and what not, and you have to promote it also. Now some of you may say well I can do that all by myself. Yes you can. If you have the time, do it! It has great value. But if you don’t have the time, then outsource it. Don’t ignore it. Instead of just saying yeah some day I’ll get to it. The more you delay, the more business you lose.
Content drives traffic.
Now let’s say you have some time. Ask yourself if that time can be better used for something else, something that can generate more revenue or save you more money or create a new product line. Let’s say, you’ve two hours a day to spare. Let’s say two hours of outsourced content costs $20. Can you spend this two hours in doing something that would generate more than $20? If the answer is yes, then you’ve got your answer. If you can generate in these two hours $40 and pay someone 20$ to develop that content, you have a winner. Always, especially if you are a small business, always focus on what you do best and outsource the rest. You’ll get better value.
Once content is developed, it has to be promoted. Yes. It won’t promote itself. You must also either learn or outsource content promotion. Why do people do it? Because it works.
