E-Commerce is becoming ubiquitous. It has it’s advantages. First, it gives customers an option to browse through several products with the click of a mouse and second, owners can easily expand their business and reach a bigger audience. But what if you own a small shop with only a handful of products? Such a website will be awkwardly bare. But you still want to use ecommerce to reach a larger audience, what to do?

Be creative and Smart!

  • Start with the right content: Add articles with relevance to the product. An ecommerce site that blends product information with interesting and informative content draws in readership. Keep in mind that good content is what sets apart your website from the many. Know your audience, keep it simple yet effective as it should benefit the readers, albeit in a small way.

  • Interlink: Mention products within articles for interlinking. People are more likely to engage with your site and view more pages if you provide them an easy way to navigate around and flow between articles and product information. Allow people the ability to socially share articles and products. This helps build a more robust website which further enhances customer experience, and improve search engine rankings.

  • Visually Appealing: Incorporate relevant and attractive images in order to make your website look visually appealing. It has been observed that online visitors stay longer with visually attractive content. Pictures make it easy for customers to get comfortable with the product, as well as adding SEO value. Also many customers like to share attractive pictures with their friends over Pinterest, Instagram, facebook etc.Your customer becomes your unofficial promoter.

  • Nostalgia: Remember emotions play a major role in our buying decisions. Make an emotional connection with the reader with stories related to that region or subject or activity. Make the customer feel comfortable with you.

No matter how small a business you are with better planning and the right content you can have an attractive website, reach a larger audience and increase sales through Ecommerce.
