Notes: comparison of shared hosting providers:

1. Avoid committing to a long term contract unless you are an experienced user.
2. If you are just starting out and will have a single site, an entry level plan would be just fine. If you plan to have 6-7 sites and blogs, go for the more expensive plans. Prices have come down tremendously. They look expensive relative to the basic plans but of themselves, they are great value.
3. Why is money back guarantee important? Because if for whatever reason you are not satisfied, you can recover your investment and start afresh with a new hosting company. For example, if you sign up and after setting up your website, you find your website is running very slow. That means that the host is serving too many websites on too little resources. Time to get your money back and move on. Most provide money back within the first 30 days.

6. They all provide web site statistics, 24/7 telephone, chat and email support.

Even though many of the plans offer unlimited domains, storage and bandwidth, if you start taking more than 9 to 10% of CPU resources, they will force you to move to VPS Hosting or open an additional account. We not only do this research, we are users ourselves and some of the things we have found the hard way. Some are up front about it, others hide it in their fine print. That’s why we removed from this list as they were not upfront about it and causing considerable grief to people by shutting their sites down when they got popular and starting taking resources.
