In case you don’t know, Article Spinners are software services that take an original article and rewrite it or at least pretend to and create a second article. What they do is use synonyms wherever possible so to a computer / search engine, the article looks unique and thus avoid getting penalized as duplicate content. This concept is quite popular in the realm of auto blogging. It is very difficult to write original articles in bulk so people write one article and then use an article spinner to create multiples of the same article. Search engines get fooled and these articles get indexed. They even generate traffic if they get placed on the first couple of pages. However; if you [Read More ...]

It baffles me that Izea, a brokerage in the world of social media advertising would treat it’s Sponsored Tweets unit like a step child. First, it has done a pathetic job of generating enough interest amongst advertisers to place Ads with their publishers. We have several accounts with them and at best Sponsored Tweets has brought in maybe $50 per account per year. That is nothing to be proud of. To punish it’s publishers, Izea introduced a pro membership level at $9.95 per month to give publishers (people with Twitter accounts) more exposure. More exposure to what? More advertisers? You don’t have any. And why would someone pay $120 per year to earn $50 per year. Are people that poor [Read More ...]

MyLikes is still being run like an amateur single person outfit. What they do with the money they raise I don't know but no matter what you do, they don't answer their emails and there is no one to take responsibility for their stuff not working. We ran several tests on their Widget for blogs and determined that they don't record the clicks properly. It's hit and miss. Some clicks it records, some it does not. And don't even think of using the widget code on an Ad Server / Rotater. Doesn't work. We emailed them six weeks ago asking them for an explanation but never heard back. We emailed them three times – no reply. If you are thinking [Read More ...]

In response to MyLikes and RevTwt offering a pay per click advertising model, Izea has also started offering Pay Per Click advertising through it's Sponsored Tweets unit. Where it still lags behind is it's payout model. As a publisher, i.e., Twitter account holder or tweeter, you can't cash out your earnings from tweeting Ads till you have at least $50 in your account. That really plays a number on publishers as they can't see tangible results in terms of cash in hand. MyLikes on the other hand let's you cash out every week as long as you have at least $2 while RevTwt has a cash out threshold of $20. Izea needs to lower it's cash out. Anywhere in the [Read More ...]
